Eliana presented her last program on SBT on the afternoon of Sunday, June 23rd, marking the end of an era after 15 years of success on the network. The presenter’s departure was announced in April this year, and since then, there has been much speculation about how SBT would reorganize its Sunday schedule.
Starting next week, the program “Domingo Legal”, presented by Celso Portiolli, will start earlier, at 11:15 am, and run until 6:15 pm. The program “Roda a Roda” with Rebeca Abravanel will be broadcast from 6:15 pm to 7 pm. The “Silvio Santos Program”, now under the command of Patricia Abravanel, will start at 7pm and run until midnight.
Eliana’s departure
On April 1, Eliana announced her departure from SBT, a decision that was friendly and mutual, as communicated by the broadcaster. “SBT, its management and Eliana announce today, in a mutual and friendly way, the presenter’s decision to end her solid and successful professional partnership with the channel in June 2024”, informed the official note.
Even after her departure, Eliana will continue to be Godmother of the Telethon, returning to the station to present the fundraising program for AACD. SBT expressed gratitude for the presenter’s contribution and left the doors open for future collaborations.
The Immediate Impact of Eliana’s Departure
The expression “king dead, king made” applies well to Eliana’s situation on SBT. After her last program, the parking space that was exclusive to her was already vacant and the name was erased. This vacancy, as well as for other stars of the network such as Larissa Manoela, Tiago Barnabé, and Patrícia Abravanel, is recognition for the success of the audience.
E-liana’s departure, which already has a date to be announced on Globo, was marked by a tribute on the “Programa Silvio Santos”. Patrícia Abravanel asked the presenter for forgiveness, suggesting that some internal disagreements contributed to Eliana’s decision. Among them, the lack of investment in the “Eliana Program” and orders not to mention the program’s name when selling commercial quotas, which irritated the presenter.
Eliana’s Future on Globo
E-liana will be one of the judges in the final of “Dança dos Famosos”, on “Domingão com Huck”, on July 7, where she will be officially announced as Globo’s new hire. The broadcaster has already started meetings to define the details of Eliana’s participation, starting with “Saia Justa” on GNT.

In E-liana’s last program on SBT, the Vila Galé hotels in Portugal were highlighted. The edition marked the end of a 15-year journey, with Eliana and Tiago Bernabé, who plays Narcisa, exploring Portuguese culture and gastronomy. The recordings took place in several locations, such as the Vila Galé Collection Palácio dos Arcos, near Lisbon, and Vila Galé Lagos, in the Algarve.
Jorge Rebelo de Almeida, founder of the Vila Galé chain, highlighted the importance of the moment: “It was a very special meeting. We know this is a landmark moment for Brazilian TV and we are happy to be part of this story.”
With these changes, SBT adjusts its Sunday programming for a new phase, while E-liana begins a new chapter in her career at Globo. Brazilian television continues to evolve, offering new experiences and content to its audience.
