Indian High Commissioner Sanjay Verma, who was called back from Canada, has said that Indian students who wish to study there should think seriously about this. Despite spending lakhs of rupees, many students get admission in substandard colleges and do not get any job opportunities. As a result, they become depressed and are forced to take steps like suicide.
In an exclusive interview, Sanjay Verma said that there was a time during his tenure, when the bodies of at least two students were sent from Canada to India every week. After failing, the students committed suicide instead of facing their parents. Sanjay Verma said that students go there with the dream of a bright future, but their bodies come back in body bags.
Sanjay Verma said get complete information about the college
He said that parents should get complete information about the colleges before taking a decision. Unscrupulous agents are also responsible for the plight of those students who get admission in little-known colleges. Many such colleges conduct hardly one class in a week. Since there is a class once a week, they will study only that much and their skill development will also happen accordingly.
Students are driving cabs with degrees or selling tea-samosa at some shop
He said that after this you will see that a student with an engineering degree is driving a cab or selling tea-samosa at some shop. Therefore, the ground reality there is not very encouraging. The Indian diplomat said that after going to Canada, students get stuck. Many of their parents have sold their lands and other properties. They have taken loans.
Indian students are committing suicide in Canada
According to him, after this the student cannot think of returning, because he has nothing left to return. As a result, suicides are happening. He said that in the last 18 months, I have got many students to record videos about their problems and upload them on YouTube.
Only five extradition requests resolved
Sanjay Verma said that Canada has resolved only five of the 26 requests sent by India for the extradition of Khalistani terrorists. 21 requests are pending for decades. So I would say this is inaction. According to ANI, Sanjay Verma said that only a few percent of Canadian Sikhs support the Khalistani issue. If Canada cares about it, they should give them space and call it Khalistan.
