NSE and BSE to Conduct Special Live Trading Session on January 20, 2024: What Investors Need to Know

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) are set to host a special live trading session in the equity F&O segment on January 20, 2024. This move is in compliance with the SEBI mandate for Market Infrastructure Intermediaries (MIIs) to conduct a switchover to their Disaster Recovery site as part of their business continuity plan.

  • The special live trading session aims to facilitate the transition to the Disaster Recovery (DR) site, ensuring seamless business operations.

2. Timing of the Session:

  • Two special live trading sessions will take place on January 20, 2024.
  • The first session: 9:15 AM to 10:00 AM
  • The second session: 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM

3. Operational Limits:

  • All futures contracts will have an operating range of 5% during this special session.
  • Securities withinside the F&O section could have top and decrease circuit limits of 5%, such as the ones already withinside the 2%nd.

4. Trading Dynamics and Considerations:

  • The truncated nature of the session may result in different trading dynamics.
  • Volatility is predicted to be limited, and the day by day running variety is limited to 5% for all shares and derivatives.

1. Session Details: NSE And BSE

  • The second session will occur on the DR site.
  • Pre-open session: 11:15 AM to 11:30 AM
  • Normal market hours: 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM
  • Call Auction Illiquid session: 11:45 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Closing Session: 12:40 PM to 12:50 PM
  • Trading modification time will conclude at 1:00 PM.

2. Settlement Holiday: NSE And BSE

  • January 20 is a settlement holiday.
  • Credits in the F&O segment and intraday profits from January 19 will not be available for trading during the session.
  • Sale proceeds from BTST sell transactions on January 20 will be settled on January 22, with credits available for trading on January 23.
