Holi is a festival of happiness and colors. On this day people gather with their family and friends and apply colors to each other and have a lot of fun. Many types of dishes are also prepared on Holi. There are many dishes like Gujhiya, Shakkarpare, which double the fun of Holi. Today we are going to tell you about the recipes of those special dishes, which you can easily make at home on the occasion of Holi.

Malpua

Malpua

Malpua is made in many homes on Holi, especially in the areas of UP and Bihar. It is very easy to make this delicious sweet puri. To make this, mix flour, semolina and khoya in a bowl. After this add some water to it and make its batter. Keep in mind that the batter should neither be too thick nor too thin.

After this add cardamom powder and mix well. – After this, heat oil in a pan and pour the batter in a round shape and fry it.  After frying well, keep the pua aside for some time, so that the excess oil gets removed. After this, put it in syrup and take it out after 10 minutes. Garnished with chopped dry fruits, Malpua is ready to serve.

Gujia

Gujhiya is also one of the most famous dishes made on Holi. It is made in different flavors like Mawa, Bhang, Coconut, Chocolate Gujhiya etc. It is very easy to make this delicious sweet. To make this, chop dry fruits in semolina and khoya and fry them. When this mixture is ready, knead the dough.

Keep in mind that the dough should be soft. After this, make a ball of dough, fill it with semolina or khoya mixture and put it in a shape maker. Remove excess flour and fry it. Your Gujiya is ready. You can fill any flavor of stuffing you want to make Gujiya.

Dahi Bhalla

This is a very special dish made on Holi. People like it a lot because of its sweet and sour taste. To make this, soak urad and moong dal for a night. After this, grind it and add cumin and chironji to it. After this, shape the batter into a ball and deep fry it in oil. Now it’s time to make chutney.

To make its chutney, soak tamarind in water for half an hour. After this, take out its pulp and heat it with sugar in a pan. When the sugar melts, keep it to cool. After this, black salt, dry ginger, chaat masala and chilli powder can be added to it. To make sour chutney, grind coriander, mint, ginger, black pepper and green chilli. After this, pour curd over the bhallas and mix both the chutneys and serve.

Shakkarpara

Shakkarpara is very tasty, which you can serve for breakfast also. To make this, mix ghee in flour and knead it well with the help of water. When the dough is ready, cut it into small pieces in square or triangular shape and deep fry it in oil.

After this, make syrup in a pan and let them soak in it for some time. When the sugar syrup is completely immersed, take it out and keep it to cool. After this serve it to the guests with tea.

Namakpara

The preparation of Namakpara is exactly like Shakkarpara, but its taste is not sweet but salty. To make this, mix salt and ghee in flour, knead it and cut it into square shapes. After this, heat oil in a pan and deep fry these pieces in it. Namakpara is ready.

Rasmalai

Rasmalai is such a sweet, which hardly anyone likes to eat. To make this sweet, boil milk and add lemon to it and tear it. When the milk curdles, tie it in a cotton cloth and hang it. When all the extra water is gone, crush it very fine and make small round shaped balls.

After this, prepare sugar syrup and dip it in it and leave it for some time. Meanwhile, boil milk in a pan, add some saffron threads and dry fruits and boil until the milk reduces to half. – After this, take out the chenna balls from the syrup and put them in milk. Keep it aside for half an hour, so that the milk can absorb properly. – Rasmalai garnished with dry fruits is ready.
