Tata Motors has introduced the Tata Nexon CNG concept at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 held a few days ago. Taking advantage of the buzz created by the facelifted Nexon, Tata Motors will introduce its CNG version. The Nexon iCNG will deliver superior drivability and powerful performance across various terrains with high ground clearance thanks to advanced low-end torque and sophisticated calibration.
Tata Nexon CNG has proved to be a game changer for the company. Tata first introduced it in the Indian market in 2017 and till now more than 6 lakh units have been sold. Currently, it is available in both ICE engine and electric vehicle (EV) variants and the company will also offer it with a CNG fuel option. Let us know about it.

Tata Motors has introduced the Nexon iCNG concept at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 held a few days ago. Its production version is expected to go on sale in India in the coming months and it will become India’s first turbo petrol car equipped with CNG technology.

Taking advantage of the buzz created by the facelifted Nexon, Tata Motors will introduce its CNG version. Tata launched iCNG technology a few years ago with the Tiago and Tigor, which come with twin cylinders. However, the arrival of the country’s first twin-cylinder iCNG technology, without compromising on boot space, has been a great development.
Features and specifications
Tata claims that the Nexon iCNG will provide better drivability and performance on various terrains along with higher ground clearance thanks to advanced low-end torque and sophisticated calibration. The factory-fitted CNG system kit comes with thermal incident protection, leak detection feature, micro switch, 6-point cylinder mounting scheme, single ECU and high-quality materials.
Tata Nexon CNG Engine
It will use the familiar 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine that produces 120 PS and 170 Nm, but with lower performance outputs. It will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, while an AMT may also be on offer.
