Earlier, MP Sanjay Singh had reacted to Vinesh Phogat being disqualified due to being overweight. He posted on X and wrote, “This is not an insult to Vinesh but to the country, Vinesh Phogat was going to create history in the whole world, it is a grave injustice to disqualify her by showing her to be 100 grams overweight. The whole country stands with Vinesh. The Government of India should intervene immediately, if the matter is not accepted then boycott the Olympics.” AAP leaders also reached Vinesh Phogat’s house

After Vinesh Phogat was disqualified from the Olympic final, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann from Aam Aadmi Party and Haryana AAP leader Anurag Dhanda also reached her house and met her family.
