The OnePlus Open Apex Edition will launch in India and globally on August 7, the company announced on Thursday. With its debut, OnePlus will introduce a new colourway for the smartphone.
However, the changes may not be just cosmetic, the listing on the official website suggests that this new edition may also feature upgrades in terms of RAM and storage. Notably, the OnePlus Open was introduced in India in October 2023 in a single 16GB RAM + 512GB storage configuration.
OnePlus Open Apex Edition
According to the teaser shared by OnePlus on X (formerly Twitter), the OnePlus Open Apex Edition will come in a new colourway called Crimson Shadow. As the name suggests, it could be a shade of crimson in a vegan leather style. The company says that this colourway is inspired by its signature “Never Settle” red. This new option is expected to join the existing colourways of the OnePlus Open, which are Emerald Dusk and Voyager Black.

Will be equipped with AI and innovative security features
OnePlus said that the new phone will get storage, AI image editing features and innovative security features. The product page of the Apex Edition shows that the phone will be offered with 3 years of OS upgrades, while the standard OnePlus Open comes with a 4-year OS upgrade promise. OnePlus will reveal its price in India on August 7. The folding phone may go on sale on August 11.
Discount on regular OnePlus Open
The regular OnePlus Open is currently selling for Rs 1,19,000 after bank discount. It was launched in October 2023 at Rs 1,39,999 (16+512GB). The Apex Edition is also expected to come around the same price. The company is also expected to launch the OnePlus Open Apex Edition in the US and Europe.
OnePlus Open Apex Edition Open has Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor
OnePlus Open has a big 7.82-inch screen, which has a peak brightness of 2,800nits and a refresh rate of 120Hz. In this, you have been given a triple camera setup, which has a 48MP main sensor and a 64MP telephoto sensor. Apart from this, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which is offered with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.
