Manu said, “In the beginning, when I didn’t have my own pistol, I borrowed Vineet sir’s pistol. I didn’t even know how deep to press the trigger. It was very difficult to make the grip.”

But despite all these difficulties, Manu did not give up. She said, “I knew I wanted to do shooting. I thought I would manage somehow. If you have a passion inside you, you can overcome any difficulty.”

Had to struggle for pistol license

At one time Manu Bhaker had to struggle for pistol license. Manu’s father Ramkishan Bhaker once told that to get the license he had to go to Jhajjar, 45 km away, every day. The officers did not listen to him. Asian Youth Games were approaching and Manu needed a pistol for practice. The police and magistrate cooperated but the then ADC did not listen to him.

Helplessly, Manu’s father pleaded to the Education Minister of Haryana and also tweeted to the CMO and Sports Minister. After two months, his hard work finally paid off and Manu got the license.

Apart from shooting, Manu Bhaker has also tried her hand at other sports

Even before this, Manu Bhaker has mentioned her love for sports in many interviews. She also used to play boxing and kick boxing. Before shooting, Manu Bhaker has also taken training in cricket. She learned the tricks of cricket at Virender Sehwag’s Jhajjar Cricket Academy. But when When a shooting range was built in the school, she chose shooting.
