Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Review: Upgrades, Riding Experience, and Competitors

Today we have brought you the review of the 2023 Hero Xtreme 160R 4v, where we will tell you what changes have been made in this 4v. Let me inform you that it has been more than a month since this bike was launched. It has also created quite a hype in the market. Has it lived up to expectations in terms of riding? Could buying it be a beneficial deal? You will find answers to all such questions in your mind. I have ridden this bike for almost 10 days, so let’s find out how my riding experience was.

Look and Design

Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Review

The design provided in this is based on the segment it is coming into. The kind of body, the cladding, the way the engine cowl and all graphics have been used here make it quite muscular, quite sporty, and give it a distinct presence in the 160 segment. Even though the headlamp may not seem very innovative, it completely justifies its look. It features LED DRLs, and while its instrumentation doesn’t appear very premium, there are 2-3 elements that give it a bolder look than before. The golden color suspension from KYB adds a touch of premium to it in its segment.

What changes have been made in the 2023 Hero Xtreme 160R 4v?

Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Review

You can see several changes in the 2023 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V. It features KYB’s USD Upside-down Forks with a diameter of 37 mm. As for the seat height, it has now increased from 790 to 795 mm. You can also see changes in engine refinement. The company claims that this is the fastest and lightest bike.

How powerful its engine has become before

It features a 163.6 cc air-cooled engine that generates 16.9 BHP of power and 14.6 NM of peak torque. This 4V power figure is about 1.6 BHP more than the 2V. You get extra torque of around half a Newton meter. In terms of weight, it now has an extra 4-5 kg compared to the 2V. You will have to pay about 9 thousand rupees more for the 4V.

Riding Experience

Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Review

The handling is good. You will have a good grip while riding the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V bike. You will feel confident while riding. It has about 1.6 BHP more power. You may not notice it immediately while riding, but as soon as you pick up some speed, you will feel it. The company claims it is the smoothest and lightest in the segment.

You will truly feel the engine refinement compared to previous comparisons while riding. Compared to its rival Apache 160 4V, it has less vibration. In the Apache, you start to feel slight vibrations at medium speed, while in this Hero Xtreme 160R 4V bike, you notice a bit of vibration after reaching a speed of 100. It does not have dual-channel ABS, which you will find in the Pulsar N160 coming in the same segment. The brightness of its digital instrumental console tends to fade in bright sunlight; it needs a bit more sharpness and brightness adjustment.

Talking about top speed, I have ridden it close to 125. You can gauge its engine refinement and power by riding in 3rd or 4th gear, where in 3rd gear this bike crosses the 90 mark and in 4th gear it increases to about 110. Overall performance is assuring and smooth. I think this is a fast, smooth, and comfortable motorcycle for city riding. I got a mileage of 34 during city rides. According to the company’s claim, this bike gives a mileage of 34.

Price and Rivals

This bike is offered in a total of 3 variants, which include Standard, Connected, and Pro variants.

  • Standard-127300
  • Connected 2.0-132800
  • Pro-136,500

This bike is about 10 thousand more expensive than the 2V. Compared to Pulsar and Apache, there will be a difference of 4 to 6 thousand. This bike competes strongly with the Pulsar N 160 and TVS Apache 160 4V in the Indian market.
