Who is UK’s Entry for Eurovision 2020?

The 65th Eurovision Song Contest from this year will take place in Holland this May. All countries are in the process of choosing the best singer to represent them, and the UK is not an exception.

It seems like the UK will have a special contestant this year. James Newman, who is almost certain to be the UK’s Eurovision entry for 2020, is a very talented songwriter. In the past, he has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the music business. On this list, we can mention famous names such as  Ed Sheeran, Rudimental and Olly Murs.

James Newman is 32 and he was born in Yorkshire.  He is signed to BMG, the record company working with the BBC to select a UK entrant for the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest.

This year will not be the first time James has contact with the Eurovision Contest. In fact, he is the writer of Ireland’s Eurovision entry from 2017, even though the song didn’t make it to the finals.

Speaking about James Newman, BMG said that he is “an artist who embodies the spirit and values of the Eurovision Song Contest”.

The UK made its first appearance on Eurovision in 1957. Since then, they have won the contest 5 times and also finished second a record 15 times.

The organizers of the Eurovision have high hopes regarding the UK’s entry from this year. James Newman is expected to have a great performance and maybe bring the big prize home again.
