At the beginning of this year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made the decision that will change their life forever. The couple decided to give up on their royal duties, as a hope that they will have the chance to live a happy and normal life, away from the media spotlight.
Nobody could say that the world didn’t expect that, taking into consideration the latest conflicts between The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the press that would constantly attack them. During an interview from 2019, Harry claimed that he will not allow his wife to have the same destiny as his mother did, Princess Diana.
A spokesperson for the couple declared that they will no longer execute their duties starting with the 31st of March and from that point on, they will live their life by their desire. However, Meghan and Harry will have the opportunity to reconsider their decision after 12 months, if that’s their wish.
Giving up on the royal duties will not mean that the couple will abandon the UK. The same source announced that they will come back regularly. Harry and Meghan will be able to keep their HRH titles but will not use them. During this period of 12 months, nobody will fill the roles the couple had.
As a plan for the future, the couple is working on a new charitable organisation that will be released by the end of this year. Furthermore, they will be represented by their UK organisation at the Buckingham Palace.
